Complete mesocolic excision (CME) with D3 lymphadenectomy for colon cancer has been shown to improve overall as well as disease-free survival compared to conventional right hemicolectomy. Performing a laparoscopic CME/D3 right hemicolectomy with intracorporeal anastomosis (ICA) can be technically demanding even for experienced operators.
